4.) Kauai Grill also located in the St. Regis Hotel, like Makana Terrace. This is a fantastic spot for a sunset dinner, especially during summer months when you can see the sun setting on the water from the North Shore. 3.) Merriman’s Fish House’s view is a more distant ocean view, but just as beautiful, especially with the panoramic views of the mountains. Merriman’s is said to be the pioneer of “farm to table”, with 90% of their ingredients coming from the Kauai or neighboring islands. This plantation style restaurant is set in the middle of Kukui’ula’s Shopping Center and couldn’t be more perfect for a nice dinner out that you will be sure to come back to. (We suggest: the two entrees Colorado lamb chops and the macadamia nut crusted mahi mahi)
2.) The Beach House Restaurant is well-known to both residents and visitors for its spectacular oceanfront setting along the island’s sunny South Shore. As a consistent winner of Honolulu Magazine’s Hale Aina Gold Award for Best Kauai Restaurant, The Beach House has earned a reputation on Kauai that goes well beyond its breathtaking setting. If you want to catch the sunset while you eat here make sure you call ahead to make reservations. (We suggest seafood linguine)
1.) Red Salt, located in the beautiful Koa Kea Hotel in Poipu, offers up fine dining/sushi with a great view. Their diverse menu celebrates the fresh seafood and produce indigenous to Hawaii, while the casual yet sophisticated atmosphere ensures that dining at Red Salt will be a memorable experience. (We suggest the bronzed scallops, Kauai shrimp carbonara fettuccine).
