Guest review taken from 3/24/19 from VRBO for Kiahuna Plantation 248 --- What a great week! We stayed for a week with 3 adults and 2 kids. It was great! The place was clean on arrival and a few nice things to start us off. The grounds were beautiful and we used the common bbq a few times. The location was great, beach was great. Great snorkelling but our kids are pretty good swimmers. I think the pool option was better for small kids as the current at the beach was intense. We saw Waimea canyon and did a day hike with this as being home base. It was a great week and I would definitely stay again.

The property was very nice,clean and quiet.The view of the ocean is fantastic from the property and we saw many whales (spotting scope is a nice touch).we cooked most of our meals and didnt want for 1 tool, nice cookware and dishes..the closet was well stocked with great beach gear. Great artwork and furnishings make this property one of our favorite places. We cant wait to come back and stay. Mahalo --- Mahalo, Phillip! We look forward to working with you, again!

It's a bit dated but well maintained and clean - a solid 3 star but the location and value for space gets it a 4th star! As noted it is in walking distance to the beach and that beach is one of the best "all-inclusive" spots on the island - there is a quiet (no swimming cove), a protected no wave/current area for young children, a lifeguarded area for swimming and some of the best snorkeling on Kauai - fish of every color in the rainbow, turtles and everyday we had a visit from an endangered Hawaiian Monk Seal - one day we had 2 playing for over an hour! In the surf day, there is time for intermediate + surfing and paddle boarding! There are a few places right there to rent all the equipment! You are on the Makaheuna Hiking Trial. You can walk to the Hyatt Regency (also Shipwreck Beach) in one direction and the Marriott in the other direction for dinner and drinks. We had friends renting a home in Kukuiula at the same time - a 5 star resort period - but they had to shuttle to all of the above and the cost of stay - well - you can't compare the 2 there! Just get to Kauai bc it is 5 star+!

Traveled to Kauai in a girls trip 3 women in our early 30s and it was perfect. 3 beds, clean, gorgeous, spacious yet quaint, and it had everything you need: nice shampoo, conditioner, soap, lotion, towels, laundry supplies. They even left us with local treats. Check in and out was seamless, no human contact required. To top it off, they alerted me immediately that I left my earrings and offered to mail them back to me. Very thoughtful. Location is great as well. Highly recommended for young adults and families of 3-4!

Our hosts were very attentive and quick to communicate when we had a minor issue that was fixed THAT DAY! The plantation grounds were beautiful and well kept, our bed was comfy. There were plenty of linens available as well as drawer space and it was a close walk to the beach. We also liked that even the available soaps and shampoo were locally made... a VERY Nice touch. We would 100% stay here again.

Guest review taken from Airbnb on 3/18/19 for Regency 621 --- This is a beautiful 3BD/3BA upstairs unit that is split level with one cozy bedroom and bathroom upstairs. That upstairs portion is open to the rest of the area so that is something to keep in mind. For example, cooking breakfast early in the morning will definitely wake the residents of the upstairs bedroom. The other 2 bedrooms including the downstairs master bedroom have doors and more privacy. The master bathroom is huge with a jacuzzi tub and a large shower. There is a guest bathroom in the hall right outside the other bedroom. Note that there is no elevator or lift here so there are stairs to climb to get to the unit, and more inside if using the upper area of the unit. There is a pool and jacuzzi, along with a BBQ area, a very short walk away. The unit was quiet, very clean, and quite comfortable for our group of 6, I could see it holding a few more even. Good stash of kitchen stuff and a lot of seasonings (salt, pepper, Lawrys, Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder), oil, soy sauce, cooking sprays, etc in the cupboard, and foil, saran, wax paper in drawers. There was a rice cooker but it was pretty basic. Roomy kitchen for cooking your own meals to save money. Couple of coffee packets for the drip machine are supplied. Everything worked fine, just be sure to not try to run the dishwasher, clothes washer, and have multiple people showering or trying to fill the master jacuzzi tub all at the same time, because you WILL run out of hot water from the small water heater... Parking is very near by and is reserved. Safe area, close but not too close to shopping and touristed areas, so you will need a car here. We did most of our grocery shopping in nearby Lihue (Safeway, WalMart, Costco ~30 minutes away) but there may be other options in Poipu or Koloa (there is a Big Save there), to my knowledge nothing like a Costco in the immediate Poipu area. This was a pricey place but we were very comfortable here and could envision coming back. The AirBnB description is very accurate in my opinion

The care package at check in was a nice touch and there were plenty of beach amenities (chairs, umbrellas, cooler, boogie boards) that made our beach days super easy. We really enjoyed our morning coffee off the master bedroom lanai and watching the whales jump out of the water each morning, great views from this property, on both floors!! The unit was larger and nicer than we expected (even though we had high expectations from the pictures). It was very clean and had everything we needed, including beach towels, chairs, umbrella, boogie board, snorkel gear etc. The views are amazing and would highly recommend checking out Hideaway beach - the sand and water were amazing!! Great Vacation Retreats communicated frequently and were very easy to get a hold of when needed. We had no issues with the rental car or really anything during the week we were there. Overall, would highly recommend this place - it was perfect for my husband, daughter and myself along with my parents. Lots of room, great location, stunning views and access to Hideaway and the St. Regis beach - both in close walking distance (although a bit of steep hike to Hideaway beach and lots of stairs to St. Regis - but still both worth the effort). Can't wait to visit again!

I had originally had another Airbnb booked in Kauai that accidentally double booked us, and we were able to book with Great Vacation Retreats 48 hours before a week long stay :). They were super responsive from the beginning, and offered a ton of information up front and inside the house in a handy binder! The bedrooms, bathrooms, and kitchen were fully stocked with plenty of towels and everything you need to live comfortably. It definitely exceeded my expectations and I would recommend staying here! Its in Poipu, the sunny part of the island, so was a great spot for the winter months, too-- we had sun every day there!

There were a bunch of nice extras like snacks, coffee and supplies for washing clothes. The area surrounding the condo was beautiful and only a quick walk to the water (about 10-12 minutes down the path). Would definitely recommend if you are in the area and looking for an affordable + comfortable rental. Fit 4 people very well and plenty of space in the living room! Loved the lanai in the morning with a cup of coffee :)

Super clean and well stocked with kitchen, laundry and bathroom needs. Especially loved the beach chairs, boogie boards and cooler, we could pack in the wagon and take to the beach!! Love the location as well. Close to nearby shopping centers. Some walking distance and others not far to drive to. Pool area is nice as well but water was a little cold. Because of that we used the hot tub more. We would definitely stay here again if the price was still affordable.

The view was breathtaking and the location was perfect for us. We wanted a really low key vacation, this condo was perfect with the quiet area. We loved the big screen TV in the living room, and a TV in the bedroom. The internet was fast as well. Everything was fully thought out and it was comfortable and didn't miss a thing down to the large bottles of Hawaiian soaps and shampoos to use. The communication was excellent, things were emailed beforehand and very easy to follow. We will stay here again hopefully soon!

I love the plantation style shutters to let all wind through. Comfy king bed and nice lenai. The aloha welcome packet / goodies ....seriously above and beyond! Dont miss out on Little Fish Coffee. Excellent location and the resort has an amazing easy access beach (with beach chairs). Youre within easy walking distance to the best of Koloa. GVR is friendly and easy to work with. The rental car deal is amazing too. Mahalo, GVR!

After a scary hiccup in our reservation (being accidentally cancelled by property manager) I was assured by several very helpful and friendly team members that the reservation would be reinstated. After spending 5 days camping around the island on probably the coldest rainiest week ever, we were so happy to land at the condo. Condo was very clean, with a great view. Being close to the road didn't really bother us as the sound of the waves would pretty much drown out any road noise. Being on the end of the building means no one is walking up/down stairs in front, near, or past your door and bedroom window. Nice to have Lawai Beach right next door. --- Mahalo, Sonna!
